Ethernet is one of the optional devices of computer to create local networking with other computers. It was first introduced in the 1980s and the standard design of ethernet cable and connection was made in 1985 as the IEEE 802.3. Today, ethernet technology is particularly replacing the wired LAN due to the higher reliability and the better speed offered by the ethernet connection. After the invention of the cable to connect one to another computer to create local networking, there are other developments of ethernet related technology by the invention of several devices to support the local networking connection.
The ethernet cable that practically used to transfer the information is supported by the use of ethernet repeater to reduce the cost for doing the cable installation. The use of repeater can be a useful solution for improving the reliability of the cable in transferring the data and information. The addition of the repeater on the cable connection also provide simpler management and capable to help troubleshooting solution. The use of ethernet cable is also supported by the creation of ethernet hub that can connect several cables to make the networking installation even simpler. The use of smart hub can be used to monitor the transferred data on the ethernet cables connected; the hub can read the destination of the data package and deliver the package to the intended destination.
